Housing Officer

£26,000 +
We are looking for a Housing Officer who has previous experience working with vulnerable people in a supportive setting. Working schedule is Monday- Friday, 9am-5pm
In this role you will:
- Work face to face with vulnerable people and support them to achieve their goals.
- Help young people overcome difficult circumstances and achieve independence.
- Work independently and as part of a team in accommodation based or floating support services for young people
- Undertake initial and ongoing needs and risk assessments for young people accessing services
- Manage your own caseload of clients, providing holistic support in line with their needs and aspirations
- Liaise with multiple agencies to ensure effective communication across the service and externally including social work teams, health and other statutory services and voluntary agencies
- Make internal and external referrals to a wide range of statutory and voluntary agencies for specialist support and Employment and Training opportunities
- Support people to manage their rent accounts through liaison with the DWP, Social Services and building their own personal budgeting skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- housing experience
- IT skills necessary to undertake administrative and reporting requirements
- Numeracy skills sufficient to calculate necessary benefits and rental requirements
- A proven ability to effectively manage incidents
- The ability to manage workload to meet range of conflicting deadlines
- Experience of effective void and arrears management
- Appropriate experience working with vulnerable people in a supportive setting including supported housing, social care, health care or related area.
